Default Help with Gen 7...

Newbie... recently purchased a Redcat Gen 7. 5 minutes in I broke a steering arm. Ordered new ones. Broke almost at once, and broke an axle. Ordered the fancy aluminum steering arms, high caster mounts and CV axles. Got 1/2 a batteries use and broke another axle...

I looked and didn't see anything in search about the axles for this truck, so I am asking for some help. I get that this is probably my fault as a rookie driver; however, I have improved things and they don't seem to hold up. Did a lot of 1:1 rock crawling and never broke like this, so... Does anyone make stronger axles for this thing????

Thanks in advance.

Pat

It sounds to me like something is bound up, or your servo end points aren't set correctly and the servo is putting a ton of stress on those parts.

I believe that the stock axles with the T cup were binding. I went to the Redcat CV style. These also broke. It also stripped out the plastic locker... all on the left front. I have since put in a hardened steel locker for the SCX 10 (cannot remember the name but found it through a search for on the Gen 7 forum) with modified Redcat CV's. Have now gotten a whole 1/2 hour straight without a mechanical up front! The Redcat axles are bound to fail but I am looking at some Vanquish VVD axles...

I'm glad I haven't wasted money on the redcat stuff for my Everest axles. I just went ahead a got the axial parts right off the bat.
