I used them in my Vaterra Ascender. They are pretty good shocks IMO. They dont leak much if properly bleeded. The spring choice is fun and HELL at the same time setting up. The customization is endless. And once you have a few sets of different heights, you can mix all the springs around and really dial in different heights and such.

The only bummer I can think of is the soft springs are too soft and the mediums should be the firm ones. The firm ones are SO strong. I dont know what RC other than something 15lbs would use those.

I think I did hard short one the small inner spring. Medium for the longer inner spring. But i tried them all too.

Totally worth the money.

My thoughts lead me to SSD's excellent new shocks:

Traxxas 8260 GTS shocks would be my recommendation. Keep an eye on ebay, you can usually find a set of TRX4 take off shocks for around $50.

My suggestion is this. Love the trx shocks. Run them on everything.

I was wondering about the Desert Lizard Shocks also. I got the hot racing internal spring shocks. i got them thinking i could use them with out oil. So i didnt have to worry about leeks. But there really soft without oil.

I'm also interested in the dirt lizards. I also have the hot racing ones and not satisfied with them

GMade has shocks just like these and I believe they were out first.

There are better shocks to be had for sure.

Gmade version sucks, these are much better. I run these in 60/40 droop on two rigs very happily.

Not my first choice for a sprung set up.

The GMades do suck. Those are what I have. What makes the Yeah Racing version better?

I have these shocks as well. I’m running 40wt fluid and the dampening is pretty crazy. You can easily support a heavy rig with this. Shock rebound and compression is very slow. If you are crawling I think they are good but if you’re doing anything faster you might want to try some thinner shock fluid. Also zero leaks. Running 60/40 droop on medium springs.

Better seals, more spring rate combinations. I could go on, but with all the adjustable you can make them work.

I see your (nice looking) tuber with desert lizards and raise you a scx10ii/bomber with desert lizards.

And those gmades in the back that I beat into submission using leftover lizard springs and internal stops. Only because I had them in 100mm

Not at all. I am very happy with my rsd's no leaks are all and hold up great.

The transition has weak threads on the cap. If you over fill them then end cap blows right off.

What weight of oil are you guys running on these? With the 40wt my shocks are pretty stiff. After bleeding them it was better but still very stiff
