| EZrun Max10 Brushless 3300kv motor for SCX10 possible?
I have some old parts from a wrecked RC car. Among other things is a EZrun Max10 Brushless 3300kv motor and ESC: EZRUN MAX10 COMBO_Car Systems_HOBBYWING TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. - The motor is a 3652 size. The ESC is rated 60A. Can I use this combo with a small pinion gear on something like a SCX10 crawler? |

I had a 3800kv mamba x with slate combo i found the motor pinion and spur would seperate under hard accel/torque causing you to chew usually the pinion since i was running a metal spur aswell lol its fun but way to much for that truck maybe if you were making a mud truck Sent from my LG-M703 using Tapatalk |

So no way to tame the engine by changing drivechain / gears? and run it with 2S

You can use it but it will not crawl, mud truck like jokersinsanity said, or some kind of sand basher, hill climber etc. I mean you can try to crawl but it will probably not be a pleasant experience due to cogging and no drag brake or instant fwd/reverse. Also, partial throttle heats up brushless ESCs, watch it! If you try it you'll probably have some fun until you break stuff and then switch the SCX back to brushed and use this in a faster vehicle |

No, I have not tested it yet. Thing is that I have a wrecked 3d printed openRC 1:10 Truggy https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:42198 That thing went insanly fast so I to often ended up braking stuff. Then I tought about salvaging some of the parts. I was hoping to use the folowing: MG958 55g 20KG High Torque Digital Metal Gear Servo Remote transmiter/receiver EzRun MaX10 ESC with 3300kv motor wheels 120mm shocks 90mm 3S batteries One project I have been considering is a 3d printed/hybrid SCX10 with metal gearbox and suspension https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3340951 Last edited by opnordahl; 02-27-2019 at 07:12 AM. |

No, it is sensorless. I get the impression that I will probably get a much better experience with a different motor/ESC combination. It is not that expensive with a motor and ESC so maybe not worthwhile to bother with my EZRUM Max combo. |

A 15-20$ brushed can (Trailmaster Sport from Holmes) and the 1080 ESC from hobbywing (30-40 bucks) are cheap and much more suited to a scaler / crawler. You can probably sell this if you think you won't be needing it, but I'd stick it in a drawer. It's a good system for lighter go-fast vehicles. |
