You do it the same way you would wire a BEC into a servo. You send the signal wire from the ESC (technically, it goes TO the esc, not from it, but close enough), then supply power to the receiver from the BEC which in turn gets powered by the battery. The grounds you generally tie together.

This picture shows you what I'm talking about:

This picture below is similar except that in this one the buck converter power comes from the ESC output that would normally go to the receiver anyway. This method may be a little easier to wire up, but because the servo has to share power with the receiver, a power hungry servo may experience some brown-outs in certain situations, especially if you decide to plug a bunch of LEDs or other accessories into the receiver ports.

Ok, got it all hooked up. New HH motor and the HW 1080. Everything was good except with the No Brainer BEC hooked up the wheels would occasionally hang up either to the right or the left. I would fiddle with the steering wheel and they would center back up. So I took the BEC off and changed the esc setting to 7.4. No more wheels getting stuck. What was the deal with that??

What voltage was the BEC set to? Some servos will glitch if the voltage is too high.

I've also seen glitchy behavior if the grounds for the BEC, ESC and receiver aren't all connected to each other.

I set the Bec to as close as I could get it to 7.4v erring on safety to the short side.

Got to run the new HH 550 trailmaster and HW 1080 today and WOW. Love them. Had a hiccup with my no brainer BEC, but got in touch with Al and he gave me some things to do to isolate the problem and I did. I have been running my own business for 25 years, so I’m a pretty fair judge of customer service and good business practices and I can say without a doubt HeyOk does it right!! He got back with me immediately, walked me through it, and even though I didn’t buy it directly from him he let me know he’d make it right. Very impressed. Anyhow like one person said when I first posted my stock electronics and motor died it WAS blessing in disguise.
