| AX10 Deadbolt vs. SCX10 Body Holes
I have an AX10 Deadbolt and want to put a factory prepainted SCX10 Deadbolt body on it. From what I understand, the front holes line up...but the rears do not. Is that right? How far off are the mounts? I don't want to be making new holes that are too close to the existing holes as to compromise the body. (If that makes sense) I know this is a noob question. I tried to find the answer I'm looking for...but I can't. Do you know the answer to this question? Thank you so much!!! |

You are not going to compromise the body. Do what you have to do then patch the old holes. If they are too close use some scrap lexan to make a backing plate. Or if you are lucky you can find some offset posts that will fit. |

Awesome! Thank you for the reply!!! Another newbie question: Who makes offset posts that I might look at? (If I go that route) I know the AX10 Deadbolt/Ridgecrest isn't the most popular thing out there...but I like it. |

IIRC Axial makes/made some little offset pieces that were for different bodies, came with my SCX10 kit. | |

SCX10 has straight body posts, the scx10II has offset post. The Deadbolt body switches back and forth between the two. So that gives you two pin options to start with. I do not know the AX10 mounting position so I can offer help. However there are body mounts with screw holes on top instead of pin hole. You could screw a plate to them, and then mount pins to that plate to fit your AX10 mount positions. |

I have cut and drilled new holes to use scx10ll body mounts on my ax10 deadbolt to accept scx10 bodies. I believe I just used the offsets to make it work. I've also heated them up on other rigs when they are close to bend them over. Good news is that they are cheap. Mess them up and you can always get more

You can make your own offset posts. Get a set of posts, and use a heat gun or a cigarette lighter to heat the posts a little bit. Once they get hot enough, you can bend them how you need.
