well...first I didnt get it grumpy ;) second I like to know the material you used for the frame and on what 3d machine you printed it. I am new to all of this but your project certainly tempted me Is it a real MOA , what motors did you use and whats the time aproximately to print this thing? Loooots of questions I know----sorry for that cheers Andy |

I printed this on a cheap maybe $150 er $250 anet a8 using Petg filament. The petg is kinda like a blend between abs which is hard to print an pla which is too brittle. The printing surface is 220mm x 220mm. The hotrod is not a MOA at all. My axial bomber is MOA, thay are both in my sig. The hotrod is basically all axial wraith running gear. Except the transmission output is extended on mine. Currently this runs on a 550 10t (2200kv) crawlmaster, hobbywing 1080, at 104:1 gear reduction. The print time if printed at 0.3mm about three 16 hour days. |

I see this thing on Thingiverse all of the time. How does it crawl? Is there any video of it?

It has a 15 inch wheelbase and a pretty low center of gravity so it crawls pretty well, the center skid drags on a lot but it slides over pretty easily with the petg plastic. the main weakness is the cab, the plastic pillars for the front window dont like falling on granite, I have also busted the grill a few times flipping over backwards onto concrete. It crawls at least as good as my modified scx10II but each have places they don't and do excel at. But for for a first try I'm happy with it. Probably won't be doing much to it for a while though as I just started an accelerated nursing program. Last edited by Voodoobrew; 04-14-2019 at 01:40 AM. | |
