| Yeti Jr. in 2WD - Noob Help
The Easter Bunny brought my two daughters Yeti Jr.’s. The one goes from 4WD to front wheel drive intermittently. I’ve narrowed it down the where the rear drive shift connects to the transfer case or transmission (not sure if an rc has a tc). Anyhow, there is some play in the shaft and it looks like a pin is what is supposed to keep it from spinning. I’ve included a picture. I appreciate any advice. I’m pretty new to rc. Instructions page 23 shows theres a screw holds that white coupler onto the end of a shaft that goes through the spur gear to the front diff. Maybe that screw is loose? Or possibly it's rounded out that coupler where it fits the shaft? http://docs.axialracing.com/instruct...o_1-18_RTR.pdf |

Thank you. I think it is stripped out. I ordered a new one. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

For this lil guy I might have put super glue instead of locktite on the threads. But if glue dosen't hold it costs more in the long run.

Yeah, the part stripped seems to be the white plastic housing where the pins grab. I tried some epoxy on the pins, but no luck. I have a replacement housing and drive shaft on their way. Fingers crossed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So the epoxy failed and I ordered a new coupler ax31509. I pulled the whole chassis and rear suspension apart again tonight. I keep spinning the screw inside and nothing. I have to be missing something obvious. Any thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm guessing the threads in the plastic driveshaft (AX51511) are stripped. If you remove the main transmission cover, can you remove the driveshaft? If you hold the driveshaft and push against the differential output (AX31509) as you turn the screw to remove it, the screw will probably come out and the differential output will come off the driveshaft at the same time.

I’m not sure if they used some type of thread lock, but the end of the screw broke off. Really strange. Looks like I need to order more parts. I appreciate the help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok, I got all of the parts and assembled everything, but it is like the driveshaft is too short. I’m afraid to power it up because I can slide the drive shaft out (with a little pressure) while the entire suspension is together. I don’t see any adjustments. It is just a little sloppy. Or should I be looking at a custom drive shaft? Not sure if there is such a thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Is it possible the spur gear, AX31513, has a longer hub on one side than the other? If it does, try mounting AX31509 against the longer hub. Everything should have gone back together the same as the original assembly, no "custom" parts required. Have you been using the second one that works properly with no 4wd issues to check how everything is mounted and confirming that with the problem one? Just a wild thought I'm throwing out there. Unfortunately I don't have a 1/18 Yeti so I'm trying to work with the on-line manual from Axial which isn't really a great help. |
