Re: Steering servo? Believe it or not I got 2 of the 20KG servos off of Amazon. I think they were $17 dollars. All metal gears. Cheap and so far have held up well in a Wraith and Bomber. Hope this helps. Now go have fun! |
Re: Steering servo? Those are the same servos i use. I love them. Plenty of torque, metal gears, n waterproof to boot. Ive got one in my erevo, my crawler, my m/t, n i got my 5yr old one for his scx10 ii deadbolt. Cant beat them for the price Sent from my SM-J327VPP using Tapatalk |
Re: Steering servo? I have been super happy with my Holmes shv500 v2 however they are pricey. I have also heard great things about the cheap HDpower servos (or their re-branded counterparts) even if you had to replace them every so often they are a great value. |
Re: Steering servo? Power HD cant go wrong. Even if sumthin were to go wrong $16 for 20kg servo for me could still be alright. Just a suggestion!! Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk |
Re: Steering servo? power hd 25kg metal gear waterproof alum case under 60 bucks been good so far an its quieter then any savox ive had |
Re: Steering servo? We'd have an easier time giving recommendations based on what application the servo is to be used for - a 1.55" tires trail rig can get by on a budget servo with no problems while a 2.2" rock racer/crawler needs some serious oomph... On tiny-tired rigs I recommend the super-budget DS3218 servos available from many vendors on fleaBay as well as Amazon. On bigger, more powerful rigs I go for Holmes and ProModeler brand servos with over 400oz-in of torque. |

I'm still a newb, but I've done A LOT of reading. Everyone is always asking about what parts are good, ie: best tires, wheels, shocks etc. That is too vague of a question. If you have a stock RTR, you don't need the strongest servo available. Consider what you have now, how much your rig weighs and if you plan on upgrading in the future. Then plan accordingly for the right parts to buy. |
