| How to SCX10 254mm Wheelbase
I want to build a really short wheelbase SCX10 so that i can use the Prolime Sumo body on it. I plan to use m3 threaded rod for the links. Is it 4mm tube i use to put over the top, or 3mm? I know the wheelbase in total will need to be 253mm but how do i know what lenth to make the front and rear links? or is it just trial and error? |

My buddy is doing this exact build on leaf springs. I have cut links in the past and trial and error is how I operate.

It would be silly to measure. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

You are going to have to shorten the frame in the rear, It hangs past the rear of the body about 3/4". I tried building a sumo on a scx10 11.4"wb, and decided it wasn't worth it.

For the lower links: 1)Measure the overall length from axial to axial with no springs or springs compressed. 2) Subtract the wheelbase you want from the current wheelbase. 3) If this number is less then the difference in length between the front and rear axles then just remove it from the longer axle. Otherwise subtract the difference in length from the number you got in step 2. Divide this number in half and remove that from the lower links. For the top links: 4) install the bottom links set the correct diff angle and measure the distance from eye to eye. You can also just guess and go trial and error, probably easier then measuring some of these links. Just guess long, usualy easier to shorten them the lengthen them.
