New esc runs backwards

Just installed a hobbywing 1080 esc on Bomber rr10 . Now reverse is forward and vice versa . Do I reverse motor wires or did I program esc wrong ❓🤔

You probably have three options. One is making a adjustment in your ESC, two reverse the channel on your radio for your forward reverse, or three reverse your motor wires. If you reverse motor wires and you have a motor with adjustable timing you will need to retime it, or it may be faster in reverse than forward. A hint, if it is a sealed can motor it is set at o degrees, so reversing wires would be the easiest fix.

Just make sure after its going the right direction that the ESC indicates its getting forward input when going forward (typically a green light for forward, red for reverse), you could end up with the ESC using reverse to go forward which is not what you want.

I would start by swapping the red and black motor wires first. If having the wires crossed bothers you use the ESC to reverse the motor direction, this way you can keep the positive motor lead hooked up to the positive ESC lead.

Yes you want the esc light to be green when going forward. Otherwise if you set reverse at 50% it makes forward 50% instead, among a few other reasons.
