| Questions on buying a used TRX4
Looking to buy a used TRX4 and plan to get the Jeep body. I suspect that I may need to buy one and have it shipped. Any idea on a range of cost to ship one, say ground via UPS? Also, what things to look out for on a used rig?

It matters which one - if you are getting one with the locking diffs and 2-speed, budget for possibly replacing all the servos... The mechanical bits of the TRX-4 (all versions) are very durable. A good cleaning and maybe replacing some bearings and I wouldn't worry much on the rest. Shipping costs? Sorry - got no clue there, varies way too much.... |

Trx-4 is a pretty tough rig. Like Durok said. Check the servos, check the portals and diffs for grease. Electronics are the main thing I've seen go on them. Mostly stock steering servo and ESC. I love my Trx-4. Have had it about 1.5 yrs and it's still going strong and out crawls most other rigs I've ran with. Good luck! Keep us posted! |

You'll have to check the clearances on the TRX-4 you buy. I tried to put the Proline Wrangler unlimited body on my trx-4 chassis kit with the inner fenders still attached. I had to cut so much of the body away it ended up looking like a Willy's Jeep without all the cool curves. If you get the defender or tactical, realize the wheel base might need to be shortened to fit the wheel arches in the body. You can get shortening kits at your local store or Amazon.

The TRX comes in 2 different wheelbases. Proline has a Jeepbody for both length. So before getting the Body wait which wheelbase the one you buy have. As said it's a tough little truck, have one of the first Defenders and no failures since. Gesendet von meinem Pixel 2 XL mit Tapatalk |

| Re: Questions on buying a used TRX4 I think the RTR Bronco is a chassis kit with a pretty lid. The RTR Defender has some different pieces (shock hoops, longer links) and a pretty lid. If the used is a Defender/Tactical (12.8" wheelbase) you might get by with just some electronics. If the used is a Bronco/Blazer (12.3" wheelbase) you might need TRA8216 (the front and rear shock hoops, 8USD) and electronics to make a 3rd party body work. In both cases you might also need different body mounts. Also 8USD. I didn't have the shock hoops so now my Jeep Body looks like a roadster. It would have worked a lot better had I had the right pieces. It was my first kit without a body included. |
