Again, many thanks.

No probably not.If it is a plastic trans case, try using CA glue.
For your metal trans case, maybe try JB Weld.

If you're trying to stop the hole from leaking, sure. If you're trying to tighten a screw, no way. Move up to a larger screw or fill it with plastic epoxy and re-drill.

I find the CA glue works great if it just a loose screw. But if its completely stripped out, either use a lil bigger screw or fill n redrill as suggested above

Plumber's tape can be used to replace Loctite in some cases but not for stripped threads. This video shows some options.

Another option is to find threaded brass inserts at McMaster-Carr or Fastenal and use those to repair the threads.

All good advice, or a dab of ShoeGoo/E6000, long term I prefer to buy new part.

LMAO!!! how'd I know you'd say E6000??? LMAO!!!

No, for real. It works. I used e6000 for my upper front shock screws (stock plastic mounts) on the Scx10 Dingo. They got pulled out while I was getting it all twisted in the rocks. It's been about 6 months and still holding strong. Good luck!!!

Link for M3 thread inserts for those that aren't familiar with what they're looking for. Just note screw needs to be fine thread machine screw not coarse self-tapping like most screws into plastic.

https://www.mcmaster.com/94510a030

You re-drill your stripped hole to suit the insert, in this case 4mm (5/32") and then press in the insert, the screw being threaded in forces the insert to expand into the hole, locking it in place.
For added security once your happy with the installation apply a dot of CA to the slot & capillary action will pull it around the insert.

E6000 is pretty incredible stuff. The buckets and grills I have adhered to lexan feel a part of the body. I could see it holding low stress joints. Stuff clearly has used, great tip

when i was working as a plumber we called the metal straping with little holes in it plumbers tape or p-tape
kinda strange to here teflon tape called plubers tape
i was like how the heck are you gona fix stripped threads with metal straping

if theres any resistance in the hole that striped ive had good luck with red locktight in the aluminum trans if theres no resistance at all any more a sliver of plastic helps wedge the screw in place and holds pretty good
ive also used jbweld and superglue with the sliver of plastic i would also think some thin copper or aluminum would work in place of the plastic for a stronger bite

You could also insert a little bit of copper wire into the stripped threads, for the fastener to grab. About servo wire °
