Default Storing Crawlers Elevated?

Do you guys leave your crawlers on the shelf as is or do you elevate the chassis to relieve constant pressure on the shocks? New to this thing so wasn't sure. Thanks.

I take the pressure off the shocks and tires if it sits more than a day.

I dangle them like they're in a meatlocker, but I generally keep them off the tires. If I have it on a shelf, I just stick something under the skid so that the tires are elevated if they're still on the truck.

I worry more about the tires/foams than the shocks. Mine sit on a axle mount that keeps the tires off the ground but the truck still on the suspension.

Some guys hang their rigs on a wall, others throw them in a closet.

For shelving, 4x4 cut to proper length. Or get fancy with a CI Cell Block.

I do the same thing. I took some old 2x4's that I found in my garage, cut them to size and screwed them together. I put them under each truck whatever it may be so the tires are elevated so I don't get flat spots. I like to leave the wheels and tires on all 11 of my trucks.

I usually take my tires off and wash them after a run, so they're off the truck already.

If I do wash my tires, I put them right back on the truck. I really don't have the room to stack up tires

This or a block that I made, Dynamite stand, pvc pipe stand, etc. unless sometimes I want the foams to get little more broken in so I leave them on the wheels and rotate tires little bit each day.

Go to the dollar store and pick up foam blocks. I think mine were meant for fake flowers.

I use small RPP boxes and some 3d printed jack stands.

This^^^

I use the CI Blocks and I have cut 4x4 pine to the same height as the CI Blocks and used E6000 to attach a thin piece foam square to the top of them. I bought the foam sheet at Hobby Lobby.

I store my crawlers AND my monster trucks elevated, both for the same reason. My Summit's original set of Pro-Line Rock Rage tires were ruined by permanent flat spots in the foams. Lesson learned. For my crawlers I use Cell Blocks, for my monster trucks I use Overdose RC Car Stands. I thought they were the same as elevated foot rests for guitar players so I bought a couple of those, and it turns out they're almost the same except for one tiny detail -- the elevated foot rests for guitar players have the hinges positioned slightly differently so the top surface is tilted instead of level. Apparently that tiny difference is why Overdose RC's special version of the same product costs so much more. But hey, at least they work.

Dynamite stands - picked up a few of them a couple of years ago on Amazon for around $12 each.

For the vehicles that I use often I keep them in those big ass Ikea bags sitting on top of a rectangular baking pan with a parts box to keep the wheels just off the pan.

I used to just keep the parts box in there but in the winter the Ikea bags leak and I ended up with stains on the rear seat of my Ram - hence the baking pan to catch the melt-water.

For my off-road racing vehicles, Traxxas vehicles, and my XRAY T4, I use yoga blocks. There the same closed-cell foam used in blocks by Crawler Innovations, and others...byt, they cost MUCH less. You can pick up a 2-pack of 9" x 6" x 4" blocks for $10.

Additionally, you can cut each block in half, turning that 2-pack into 4 stands...that equates to only $2.50 per stand. If you cut a block lengthwise, you get two 6" x 4" x 4.5" blocks. If you cut widthwise, you get two 9" x 3" x 4" blocks, or two 9" x 6" x 2" blocks.

How many days/weeks/months were they left to develop flat spots?
