Default What motor for mudbogger/trailtruck

I want to build a mudbogger/sand dune/trailtruck with more emphasis on the first two of the three. What size and kind of motor should I run. I'll be running a tlt body and the rest is pretty much undecided. This motor needs to be inexpensive but good enough that it will hold up. I know I want 4x4 but other than that I'm not sure. This is my first project so if I forgot something sorry just ask and I'll try to answer it.

Thanks
Jack

35t lathe is good for bashing with a little higher than rockcrawling gearing. Maybe 35:1 to 45:1

Ok I'll look for something around that. While were talking about it does anyone have ideas for the rest of the drivetrain? Remember the more inexpensive the better. I'm thinking 2.2 tires.

Maybe something like this motor?

That motor should work really good for that application. For a drivetrain I

would read up on all of the stickys at the top of the pages to see what

will suit your application best.

I've had a problem with the open endbell motors getting crap in them. For harsh running in mud and sand etc. The sealed endbell motors seem to hold up better in these conditions.

The cheap tamiya silver cans seem to hold up well, even running for extended periods under water.
