| noob mistake
so i bought a capra rtr & figured id buy the spectrum dx5 radio to go with it. i made the mistake of yanking the wires from the stock receiver without taking a pic to show what went where & i cant find any info anywhere on what wires are what. can someone help me out with hooking the wires to the sr515 receiver. i wont have a battery for the capra for about 2 weeks cause no one has any in stock so i cant just plug them in & test if theyre in the correct spots. aside from the sr515 receiver, the capra is a stock rtr. also, underneath theres a red & black wire hanging out that i never unplugged. any idea as to what this wire goes to?

First, Welcome to RCC. As for the receiver, steering is always on channel 1, speed (ESC) is on channel 2, beyond that it depends on the application. Each channel is marked to indicate which way the plug goes in the port. |

If you look closely at the receiver it will have labels for each spot. They are also in the manual you can find HERE. The plug from the ESC goes into THR The plug from the Servo goes into STR If there are lights that plug into the receiver put them in AUX3 If you setup dig function you can place that servo into AUX1, 2 or 3. Just make sure you setup the same AUX channel on your transmitter for that function. |

Yeah, you are trying to figure out which wires are for the servo, ESC and such, right? That is why I always make those connectors, so I know who's-who in the zoo when I am reconnecting everything up: S= Servo E=ESC W=Winch T=Transmission (2-speed) FD= Front Differential RD= Rear Differential L=Lights B=BEC I am assuming the wires are all bundled together, see if you can pull on the servo wire and see it move in the bundle, then follow the rest in suite, marking as you go. |
