@2xDeadbolt - I've scoured almost all of my rocks from construction sites (with permission) and also farmer's fields. They'll generally make huge piles as they plow and till and most have been more than happy to have me haul them away. I basically just always keep my eyes open for build materials...

A couple months back I found a huge pile of concrete over pour. Every time I go by I just grab some more. It was part of a road construction project in my area. I stopped and talked to one of the guys one day and he said they were just going to haul it away so I was welcome to as much as I want.

Nice start to your course as well!

@mewalsh100 I saw broken concrete outside this house. I tried to knock on the door and ask if I could have it. I even left a note but they did not write or call me back. I need to go back by and see if it is still there. With my trailer to take some home.

I have a 72'x5' planter in my backyard that we aren't using for anything but collecting weeds. My sons want to build a crawler section. They'll be adding rocks, wooden bridges and any other obstacles they can find in the area to bring home. I think we'll also have a long straight away too. Should be a fun project.

@johnnie6three 75' I'd really long.
We made one 4' x 16' I think is the size. I need rocks and it to stop raining all the dang time. I have mine covered but now have puddles on the course. I have to figure out some better way to cover or don't cover it. Not sure what is best

I like your course, but I’ve got to ask, where did you get the Sasquatch?

That is fantastic!!!!!

I love how it looks like it has a purpose there and doesn’t detract from the surroundings.

While I do like the specific crawlers courses that people have done, if I was doing it I would gear it towards landscaping, rock garden, retaining wall etc.

That’s just me.

I do thoroughly enjoy seeing people’s home courses though.

ETA - Here are some of my courses at home

That looks great. Part of our deal was it had to stay hidden in the back yard.
I picked up some rocks and debris off a lot that a house was destroyed. I will post some of what I have done later. I was reworking it some this morning.

i been working on a backyard course mostly from picking up boulders from backroads in my area. I tend to take the long desolated road home to keep an eye for possible obstacles. it has been fun and my kids love to play in the rocks with their toys when they are not running the RCs

Mewalsh100, really digging your course bro! That looks like fun!!!

Here's a video and some pics of my backyard course. It's been updated some since this video and is currently under a reconstruction. More Rocks! Harder lines!!! I used pallets, Florida field stone, drainage pipe, blocks and dirt. There's a few videos on my channel from back there. Will do an updated video once I get a chance to finish it up. Hope this helps! Have a great day!!!!

Since Fl was a reef long ago. That would be correct. Most of them have fossilized shells in them. Some have crystal formations on them. I've found some sharks teeth and other cool fossils in them as well. Very very grippy rocks. Now that they have that green moss growing on them. They can be difficult when damp or wet.

This is an excellent idea, I think it's kind of what I'm looking for. Integrate crawler terrain into nice looking, appropriate landscaping. No complaints, improved home value. Win!

I'm going to try and figure out some terrain around the pool, there's some changes i want to make anyway, and incorporating the waterfall into crawler terrain would be a lot of fun.

thanks for the pics.

i have this so far, my mound of dirt is still froze so couldn't fill in the cracks yet. once it thaws i'll fill in and maneuver some of the back logs then get some more fill and rocks, in the process of building a bridge. i need to figure out a good barrier or box in the course some how
