AsiaTees has a new release that is very scale indeed - the RCRUN RC80, for LC80 bodies: And I would love to build the 1/6th scale Capo Suzuki Samurai, too: |

King Hauler... If you thought people geeked out on crawlers, you should check out some of the King Hauler build, many are more or less 1:14 scale rolling art. Mine, I have geeked out a bit, but nowhere to the near what I lot of guys have done. If you get one, you really have to get a trailer to go with it. This is mine... That HC-6 looks sweet. He used to drive one of those so i think he'd dig it. Too bad it looks like it comes with the axels and tranny built. That's really a big part of why he is doing this project to begin with. he wants to build the mechanical stuff to "see how it works".

Kits are ok but I prefer to build one offs. Much more enjoyable for me and I know its the only build like it.

This is a good question and I had to think harder than I thought I would need to. I think I would choose my Element Enduro, just because it was my first crawler and taught me a lot about how to set up a crawler. |

Browsing Tamiya kits can be dangerous because they are not that expensive and I find them to be super satisfying to build. The grasshopper two was a great starter kit and it cost just over 100 bucks when I picked it up last year. That quickly lead to picking up and building the Subaru rally car on the TT02 chassis. Then the SCX 10 ii kit around March. I also have a Land Rover D 90 CC01 chassis Waiting for when I wrap up some other projects. I have Appreciated the design and engineering that went into each but found the SCX 10 ii to be a more mechanically satisfying build. The Element Enduro above sounds great too. I also like the dynahead as it looks like it will be a fun build and it has portals.

| Re: Your all time favorite kit build I have a Capo jk max that was really cool to build. Finding replacement parts are damn near impossible. It makes a great shelf queen when you are waiting on parts. I have modified a lot of custom parts just to keep it going, just something to consider if you are wanting to get one.

Yamiya kits would be my number 1 choice. Hpi when they used to sell kits, second.

My all time favorite has to be the Tamiya Promarket Merc TA02 Touring car, back when they were popular. Ran it with a Novak T4 ESC and Trinity Monster motor. The original chassis was stolen back in the 90's but I still have the body. |

Just got into crawling the past couple of years. Only kit I finished was the Element Enduro builders kit. I liked it so much that I just bought the Gatekeeper builders kit 2 days ago. I have another crawler kit that sits on the shelf but someday it will get built. Overall though, I would have to say the Kyosho V-One R 1/10 gas touring car back in 2001. Fit and finish is still second to none. Then comes all the Tamiya kits. Ah, the memories of my younger years... |
