Default Can the Scx10 iii stock receiver work a lightbar?

I’m building a Cherokee body that matches my full scale rig and was hoping to get the lightbar to turn on and off using the controller. I pulled the dig servo wires out of the ESC and plugged the lightbar into the same slot. However, the lightbar is just on full time. Pressing the button on the transmitter doesn’t have any effect. Is there a step I am missing to get this to work? Or do lights not actuate the same way as servos? Thanks in advance.

In very simple terms, you need a "Remote Switch" plugged in to the receiver channel to be able to turn the lights on and off with the transmitter. The remote switch would have an input connector plugged in to the receiver and an output connector you plug the lights into. As you've seen, just plugging the lights in to the receiver doesn't "control" them on-off.

There are Youtube videos that will provide more in-depth info and also how to build your own controller if you've got electrical skills. Just type in "RC Remote Switch" to get you started.

you need something like this.

or one of these. I have a couple of the #1 type. just plugs into the channel and the lights plug into the 3 prongs on the board.
Set the channel to 2 position and done.

Blame all price increases on the pandemic.

Aye. I picked up 2 or 3 last year for 5.00 each.

Almost 12.00

You can blame the pandemic, but the pandemic didn't shut down entire Industries across the world and print 1/2 the money in circulation in the last 8 months.

Governments did that.
