Default ebay special wraith cage issues!

Hi Guys / Gals,

Purchased what was supposed to be a metal wraith cage off of ebay for a scratch build. I am having an issue that I cannot find an answer to. A wraith skid plate is apparently 4" in width. This cage is approx. 3-5/8" wide. What skid plate is this thing made for? I cant find any that size?

Thank you for the help!

Not sure if that added the image but that is the cage I purchased.

IN mm, the skid plate mounting area width is about 92mm.

i ordered 2 cages one time one was fine the other got damaged some how the only thing was some how the cage got squished and it was only noticeable because the skid dident fit just like your discribing

did you try spreading it apart to fit the skid thats all i did to mine and its fine

Sadly I do not think that it is bent, It looks to be in good condition and made that way. Everything is strait as it should be its just quite narrow. I was even thinking they may have welded them in the wrong place but its clear that they are where they belong.

It would be tough for me to break the plate mounts off and move them out wider as they would fall in the rock rail and not have somewhere to weld to.

My wonder was, is this a "typical imported cheap part" issue or was it made for some other skid plate?

since the pictures dont work on my end i cant say anything about anything but ill say this it sounds like its in the ballpark of fitting ether a scx10 size skid or maybe a trx4 skid
the 1.9 wraith would use a scx10 sized skid maybe you got a 1.9 wraith cage

Those skids are only 3" wide... I think you were right the first time. If the screw holes match the skid, force that ****er in there.

i just took a tape to some of the rigs i dident messure vary good just a quick check
the wraith and bomber are 3 and 7/8 the skid is 4"
the trx4 skid is 3 3/4" +or- alittle for the frame rails
the scx10 skid is 3 1/4" +or- for the rails
i have fit the trx4 skid on the bomber chassies but i needed to squize the chassie a bit but it dose.fit 2 holes line up perfictly with the chassies the other 4 would need to be drilled in
if you want portals that would be the way to go
it looks like what ever skid you choose you should be able to force it in there

Awesome info guys! Very much so appreciated.

The Trx4 width sounds like it may work but it looks completely different then what I am used to. All of my rigs are Axial or Redcat based so the transmission looks like it is re-inventing the wheel for me.

I am going to see how stiff the cage is tonight and see if the old fashioned jam it in there idea would work.

I will let you know what I find and I will try another way to include some pics.

Thanks again!

I think the scale of the chassis pic posted is 1/12. If so, thats where the problem is.
