Question Very little steering throw

Hi Guys, Newbie from the UK here!
Just got a new SCX24 C10 and can't get much steering throw. The servo can move from about 40 degrees left to 40 degrees right manually when the RC is turned off but when actually trying to drive it only goes about 5 degrees each way. I can't find a way to alter the throw, am I missing something?
Thanks.

sounds like your steering is turned down there should.be a nob on the controler somewere that says d/r or st d/r or duel rate or something along those lines
thats there to limit the steering so you dont.burn up the servo trying to force it past the steering stops

Did you add brass and/or bigger wheels and tires? It's probably just not strong enough to turn anymore. Same thing happened to me after adding brass to the wheels and axles. I upgraded to the emax servo, which fixed the problem. That was like a year ago, though. There are better micro servo options readily available now.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I've tried the DR control but it doesn't seem to do anything. If I turn the centering control to the max either way the servo shakes like crazy, but if I centre the steering I can't get much throw at all. I haven't any weights or other major mods yet.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I haven't put any weights on yet. The DR on my Tx might not be working. Could be a problem as I couldn't resist doing a few cosmetic mods so I can't send the whole thing back. Oh well, still great fun!

it sounds like it could be a bad servo that would be the best case
the worst case would be a new radio and esc and reciver but even then you would still want a new servo

Seems like it. Ordered a new servo anyway, so that will be the first step. As I now have 7 crawlers, might be a good idea to get one really good transmitter and fit decent ESC and receivers to everything. Or maybe 2 transmitters, so I can take 2 crawlers on the trail.
Thanks for the help, this forum is the best for real enthusiasts.
