Default Removing Tires from wheels?

I want to remove the tires from the WK wheels , I dont wanna strip the crome, Should I Boil the tires or Acetone will work? Thanx

Ive boiled chrome tires before, it wirks but it dulls the shine of the chrome

Preheat your oven to 350. Then shut it off. Put your wheels in the oven for about 10-20min on a cookie sheet. Take them out (be careful they will be hot) Then pull the tires off with a hot mit, pot holder etc.

i have boiled them in water before but the rims were white not chrome

Oven method works great, I've done about two dozen that way



just watch for steam when you pop the first side off.........

I am amazed, the oven thing worked very well on those WK tires.. 20 minutes and the tires came off easily!. Thanx for the advice. no mess just the stinky odor from the tires

i read and read a previous post like this one and iot seems the oven technique works best for more people. haven't tried it myself but i guess it's worth t a shot


they say the debonder dulls the chrome and it won;t look nice anymore

I would try the ca debonder first to preserve the chrome....

Try the easiest first.

Debonder will dull the chrome. The oven method works every time.

Yes, use the oven method. Boiling doesn't work if they are glued well and the oven method is sooo easy.

CA glue is very close to superglue, it gives up its hold and breaks down in the 200-220F range. you could probably put them in for 30 min at 275 degreese and might not get as much stinky tire smell, just stinky deteriorating CA smell.

I use a Heat gun(with a adjustable temperature) and a razor blade to take tires out from old rims, works for me.

i use beadlocks.....lol.....but before that i would just be very carefull and cut the tire off the rim. i guess i should try these different tecniques.

I have heard the oven method works the best and it doesn't ruin the rims, or chrome rims.....Hope that helps.
