| help!...TLT newbee question
i'm in the process of building my first TLT crawler and i have a problem mounting the stampede rear wheels in the stock TLT wheel axles. there were very small thread of the axles coming out when i mount the pede wheels. my problem now is that i cant screw the lock nut all the way to the nylon lock part of the bolt. the bolt keeps coming off everytime i run the truck. anyone who can help me on how i could fix this problem using the stock wheel axles? i know that the TG10 rear wheel axles will fix this problem but i cant find any of these parts in my LHS so my only option for the moment is to use the stock wheel axles. any info is greatly appreciated. thanks. |

Go to homedepot and look for 1/2" barrel nuts they call them connectors or some sh!t. You'll need to drill the axle hole in the pede rim just a hair to get them to fit. The grind the barrel nuts so they are about a 1/16" from poking through the wheel. Use a dremel to slot the top for a flat head screw driver. That's it! Cost like $4. Might need to use blue locktite if they back off.

You can also just partially drill out the hub of the wheel where the wheelnut goes to expose more threads. I think that's what most people do.

there are some hpi stub shafts that you could use too, sorry cant remember the part number but if your local shop has em, just match em up to a stock. or go by size off tower.
