| Automotive brake line for link arms?
Brake line tubing for the 4-link arms. What da ya think? It's already hollow and just have to tap it. What have you guys done or tried? Let me know... |

ColquitCustom405 did that with his sand rails the first couple times around. It can be done, but that is a lot of work for something that might bend and then you have to remake it. Give it a go, nothing says you can't at least try. |

I made mine out of it. Right now it is 3/16, but I think I am gonna switch to 1/4" line. threading it is easy if you have the tools. also, I have seen people put threaded rod all the way through to add strength and leave some exposed for the rod ends to screw on to. good luck. My crawler is almost done so I will post up some info soon as to how well it runs.

I'd run all-thread through it before I drilled and tapped it. Easier and stronger... |

Been using it for a long time now, no problems. 3/16 brake line tapped for 6-32 threads.

Brake line and all thread is all I use for links and steering linkage. Uppers,I use #8 all thread and 1/4" brake line. Lowers,I use #8 all thread and 1/4" line sleeved with 5/16" line. VERY strong way to go. They hold up very well to my abuse. Steering linkage,#8 all thread and 1/4" line. If it's down low and will take on good hits,I sleeve it with 5/16" line. IMHO,you should Xnay the tapping brake line idea. IMHO,the wall thickness isn't enough to take threads and still have any strength. Using all thread is cheap, easy and it works well. |

What size of brakeline would fit over 6/32 all thread without having to tap it.

I have been using brake line for years. For lowers I buy 3/16" OD, 0.035" wall aluminum tube, tap it for 6-32, then slide 1/4" brakeline over that. A smack with a hammer or a high clearance bend keeps the brakeline in place. For uppers and steering I do the same thing except I use 7/32" OD brass tube to sleeve the aluminum tube. I have never bent a brake line link. |
