driveshaft hey i am havin trouble assembling the driveshaft for my tlt....i cant get the swivvel part in the shaft??or get the yokes on,can anyone show me how"thumbsup" |
you can boil the plastic, and the shaft will slip right on the ujoint. bring water to boil and turn it off, then submerge the plastic shafts for 30 seconds or so. then put em together. caution water is hot. |
i just used my man muscles.... but you can try the water method"thumbsup" |
Traxxas also has a tool for that for about $3.00. I finally bought One about a month ago, and now wonder why I did it the other ways for so long. |
I find that a steady stream of swear words also seems to loosen the plastic up a bit... |
i try to tell everyone about that tool, but i have gotten a few emails asking questions about how to use it. that i think works the best. |
Use the tool and smash them in. |
i toock a little propane soldering iron/mini torch. i used the minitorch part to heat up the sides of the yoke and [plastic is VERY hot so use neadle nose pliers]and set it in winth no problem |
Obijuan has the right idea. I find that 20 seconds in the water and the plastic is soft enough that no tools are required. Wear some latex surgical gloves and have at it. |
