| Ultimate Wheely King build
Hey folks I recently purchased a HPI Wheely King and I see that they are a good platform for crawling. What kind of modifications should i make to it? Motor swaps? New shocks? Suspension arms? Id like to put in 4 wheel steering, but i have no idea how. Are there any good frames that i could swap in? Will the steering need modified and how? I want to make a really extreme crawler but i need some help. Any input is appreciated. |

Good to see another KC local on here. If you plan to compete with your WK, 4-wheel steering is not allowed. If competition doesnt interest you, then adding it is pretty easy. Our next competition is coming up on July 28th, your welcome to come out and join us. We have a great group of crawlers here and Im sure any of them would gladly help you out with your build up. |

Nice to see another KC WK. Here is mine. The KCRCRC is a great group, the guys do an awesome job of setting up nice events and get togethers. Makes sure to keep track of them. What part of KC are you from? |

Theres tons of info to be had here. The WK forum here is full of great ideas, tips, and info. When you stretch the wheelbase of your crawler HPI suggest buying their longer driveshafts. But those are fairly pricey items. I think $34 for 2 plastic driveshafts is a little expensive. I believe you can use T/E-Maxx driveshafts instead and save some green. HPI is doing a mulit-stage crawler buildup. Its enough to at least get you started. http://www.rccrawler.com/crawlerking1.html |
