Default NEWB from Toledo

I've been reading alot on here the last couple days. I'm wanting to build a Crawler but wanted to be able to play with something in the meantime. I was thinking ov buying a Clod from a reputable source through my LHS. I've yet to get all the specifics on it. I know it has 19 turn motors (to be changed), Mamba Max ESC, running 14.4v, radio system(brand/ch?). I'm gonna give him a call and try to go check it out tomarrow. It's a ready to run set-up and he's wanting $300 for it. Possibly worth it?? Thanks, Chris

Welcome to the board

To be honest with you, it's "worth" what your willing to pay for it....as a "crawler", the only stock Clod parts you'll be reusing are the axles (and you'll replace most of the "stock" parts there too).

That said, a RTR Wheely King 4x4 can be had for ~$200...just take it out of the box, charge the battery and run the **** out of it

You can add lockers, upgrade the motor, wheels & tires and extend the
wheelbase as you go. Minimal downtime, maximum fun

Look around in the threads...there are hundreds of build threads here, find one you like and read how it came together. Decide what your looking to do with your truck, and what it's taken others to get there with theirs. Apply the things you like, change the things you don't to suit your taste and needs/wants. Before you know it, one of those "build threads" will be your truck

Whatever you decide, just remember one thing....Have Fun !

I was seriously considering it. But it was totally stock with the exception of the motors(that I wouldn't use), the ESC (that wasn't tha Mamba Max, Like I thought he said it was). So, the only thing I'd be using from it would have been the Axles. And I'm not gonna pay that kind of money for just them. Now......if he wanted $150-$175 I would buy it. But, he wants $300. Chris
