55 turn vs 12turn

is there a actual size diference betwwen the motors

theshimonator 08-18-2007 12:45 PM

in a word "NO" but it depends if it's a 540 or 550 or 570 or a 240.... then there is a size difference.

aggressivellc 08-18-2007 12:53 PM

Number of turns has nothing to do with physical size. If it mounted, it is a 5xx series, and probably a 550+, whereas you need a +/-540 without hitting.

Seeing as there is NO reason on earth to stick a 12t motor in a crawler, this shouldn't be an issue. Just pick up a lathe and be done with it.

i know not using a 12 turn but dying to get it done and wanted to see it mocked up i guess and ran into this what motor is a good choice for a budget but good motor

The "12 turn" that comes with the xl5 rustler is a 550 sized motor. Physically, they are a bit longer than a 540 and that is where your problem is.
