55 turn vs 12turn is there a actual size diference betwwen the motors |
in a word "NO" but it depends if it's a 540 or 550 or 570 or a 240.... then there is a size difference. |
no physical size differance |
i have a xrc chassis and have every thing setup but rustler tranny with the 12 turn motor don't fit in the chassis it keeps hitting the frame there whats up did they drill my holes in the wrong place or is this motor bigger then say a 55 turn im almost done with my first build and need answers cause im stumped http://s175.photobucket.com/albums/w...t=IMG_3430.jpg http://s175.photobucket.com/albums/w...t=IMG_3429.jpg |
Number of turns has nothing to do with physical size. If it mounted, it is a 5xx series, and probably a 550+, whereas you need a +/-540 without hitting. Seeing as there is NO reason on earth to stick a 12t motor in a crawler, this shouldn't be an issue. Just pick up a lathe and be done with it. |
i know not using a 12 turn but dying to get it done and wanted to see it mocked up i guess and ran into this what motor is a good choice for a budget but good motor |

what about a esc to se with a brushless system |
The "12 turn" that comes with the xl5 rustler is a 550 sized motor. Physically, they are a bit longer than a 540 and that is where your problem is. |
