Default Dumb noob question here

sorry real dumb I am new to RC and really to crawling so I am trying to figure out as much as I can I have read every mag I can get my hand on and tried every site I can find so thanks for the help

I tried posting this on rcu but apparently nobody there know the answer either so I dont feel quite as stupid.

But I am looking at getting a radio for a AX10 and I am wondering that if it says 10 model memory if it means I can use it with 10 different RC cars??? Because I have a revo and a vendetta ST also. and I am wondering if I spend the money and get one really good radio that has a the 10 model memory what I have to do to just have one radio for all of my cars???

Thanks for you patients

Oh this is one that I am looking at either this one or a 2.4 spread

What it means is that it will STORE settings for up to 10 models. When you adjust your throttle travel, end points on your steering, functions, etc...you can have different settings for up to 10 different vehicles.

You STILL do need to buy a receiver for EACH car that you want to control with the transmitter. Or you can simply swap the receiver from vehicle to vehicle when you want to use the transmitter for the other ones...but that gets tedious.

Is that the answer your after?

yep, that's what it means. all ya gotta do is get additional receiver crystals for your existing revo and ventetta receivers. welcome to a new addiction!

EDIT: I guess I type too slow!

Yes I believe so.

Thanks

I would like to have just one really good controller for all of my RC's Sounds like I can just buy more recievers and just install them in each rc, and program the controller for each individule car that way if I go to a race or some where to just bash I can take several different RC's and not have to carry 6 different controllers. Also with the 2.4ghz I should not have to worry about frenquency conflicts correct?

Thank you

Right...the 2.4 gig is a non crystal system and you really don't choose your frequency. The DSM technology scans all the available frequencies above a certain point, and gives you one automatically...so the chances of two 2.4 gig users interfering with each other is almost impossible, or with any of the other FM or AM radios for that matter.

I do the same thing. I bought the Spektrum DX6 and use it for my Revo and for my 2 crawlers. The cost of the receivers are still a decent amount, but it's not as much as buying a whole new radio system every time. I paid $200 for the DX6 system, and each additional receiver costs about $50.

What 2.4ghz 3chn radio system do yall believe would be a good one to purchase? I looked at the Spektrum DX 3.0 pro and R but I dont really know a whole lot about them I also was looking at on I believe it was called nomadio or something like that I also like the Futaba. But to me they are all greek because I am still learning all the different functions on just the simpilest like my TQ3 with my revo.

Thanks

Go for the Spektrum. I have the Spektrum DX3 3.0 and I got it with 2 servos and 2 recievers for like $335 with tax at my local hobby store. I am glad I bought it, and plus is has a 3 model memory which is just what I need. No crystals and virtually no glitching. Plus a ton of cool features, and pretty much unlimited range for the distance I can still see my vehicles.
