dont know a ton about the novak, but the mamba max is fully programmable, you can adjust allll kinds of stuff from drag brakes to start up voltage etc. also the mamba max you will need to get a crawler specific motor. the goat is supposed to be good too and is ready to go from the box but like i said i dont know a whole lot about it. talk to jonrobholmes!

What would be the crawler specific motor? Does the Integy 55T, 75T crawler specific motor? Many thanks.

I've had both.

A Mamba Max with one of John Robb Holmes New Revolver motors is a very good combo, not much glitching at all and good control over all. I do prefer the drag brake control on this system over a Novak Goat because you can adjust it to slowly go down steep descents. Its very important to gear down and volt up with a higher cell count with any outrunner system to avoid as much glitching as possible.

The Goat is addicting. So much wheelspeed and so much torque. I geared down as much as I could and I still have 50-75% more wheelspeed than I did with any outrunner system with the same torque. NO GLITCHING on the low end, just smooth power. Its very easily programable and you don't have to have your computer with you to adjust stuff. I know people have had problems with them but I have two and have never had an issue with anything. I think most of the problems are that people are following the instructions right during set up or don't have their TX set up right. The drag brake is not as usable in my opinion but its still there and helps a lot.

That being said, all I want to run anymore is the Goat, I've made stuff I never thought possible because of the wheelspeed and the low end smoothness.

The Goat has a 7 cell limit.

Either system is going to be a great setup. I'd recommend sending a PM or email to John at Holmes Hobbies and discuss your needs with him. He sells both and can help you decide which one meets your needs.

I agree, both are great systems. We need to know more about what you want to do. Is this for a comp crawler, a basher, a fun crawler?

You aren't limited by your charger, so either is a good idea.

The Mamba max could be used in your T4 too, with pretty much any motor or battery. The Novak Goat will be limited to your crawler. Both work with brushed motors, the Novak system only works with certain brushless novak motors. 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of another.

If you budget is around 100, the hitec 5955 or 5995 is right up your alley. Best one out there IMO.
