Welcome to RCC!!

I highly recommend the Axial AX10 for a newbie, or anyone on a budget, or even the seasoned crawler for that matter. It's a very capable rig out of the box with a couple small mods. It can be made even better with the aftermarket parts coming

There is a classified section here at RCC, But you need to have 30 quality posts, and be a member for at least 30 days before you can access it..
You also have the option of purchasing a supporting member star, and having access to the classifieds, ability to directly attach pictures, and are able to enter the many great vendor give-a-ways.
Info on star: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/annou...t.php?f=73&a=1

Twin stick... DX6.
Pistol Type... Nomadio React.

There are a lot of really capable scale crawlers out there. Search will be your friend for ideas.

Again, welcome.

Welcome.. I used to (still do sometimes) build plastic models. If you were good with the scale aftermarket stuff ( detial master to name one) you'll do just fine with a scale project. Just have fun and don't post any stupid questions on here and you'll be just fine...J/k.. really post what you need to know and there are a bunch of great people here that will help you out. I am building a clod based super right now but I am planing on a nice jeep based scaler to modle my own jeep. good luck and happy building

the dx6 is really nice, and in my range because it includes servos and receiver.

do you guys know any others that are in this price range but in a pistol grip?
i have had pistol on my last 2 trucks and i guess i have gotten used to it.
im sure you will all say it is preference, but is one better than the other for crawling?

I'm in NE PA... I'm sure there are some close to you. Your radio is prob a 2 chan which would work throttle and steering. Anything else like a whinch or lighting you're going to need more channels

I went cheap and bought a modded traxxas 3 chanel radio. I am going to use the 3rd chanel for rear steer but you could use it for just about anything. I got it with the crystals and receiver on here for about 25 bucks. far cheaper then anything else for now.
