Because that esc is purposly built for crawling. Most others aren't.

yup, the motor draws way less amps than a typical stock motor (like a stock 27T from a wheely king). less amps = less heat. The ESC was also purpose built for low speed handling so it also has more efficient cooling. When I ran the stock motor on my wk, the ESC always overheated and shut down, but once I got the same motor you have (still using stock ESC - plan to get the Rooster soon), I haven't had a problem since. cheers, |

Same here, I went with the integy 55t lathe motor and the stock esc doesn't get hot anymore.

I agree that the motor makes the difference. I use crappy LRP runner ESC's in my AX10 with an Integy V10 Matrix 55t (cold as ice) and in T4 trucks with 17 turn doubles (gets really hot) and in a Tamiya mini with an admittedly overkill 15 turn (I'm surprised it has'nt melted). THe Mamba Max I'm about to install in the AX10 is for the superior throttle control and braking to offset the cheap TX I use (Airtronics Blazer Sport). |
