Alright so far I love the site. There is no intro section so just a little about me. the name's Bret and I'm an 18 year old senior in HS and have spent almost all of my time working on my 1989 Nissan 240SX. When I was little I constantly played with trucks and am starting to gain an interest in them again. Well the funding just isn't there to buy myself a real truck and I've always been into RC's. Well watching all the video's of you guys RC rockcrawling has really sparked an interest in getting a new RC truck. I previously had a 1.5 Nitro T-maxx and it was fun but just too expensive(years ago) I'd really like to get an electric truck that is as close to scale as possible and with all the new kits available I'm a little overwhelmed. There is just so many options! I love the Tamiya F-350 Hi-Lift but I can't afford to shell out almost 700 for a toy. I love the way the chassis and driveline is so realistic. Another truck that has caught my eye is the Tamiya Bruiser, again a very realistic looking truck but again, too expensive. Is there any cheaper trucks similar to these out there that I'm somehow looking over?

A roller High Lift is $325-375 then you need electronics. Wheely King RTR is $200-225 but will need mods to be a good crawler, and an Axial AX-10 is $230-250. Its also a roller so you need electronics.

Thanks fellas. Yeah I've been lookin high and low on this site and there is all sorts of new things to learn. Ever since I've had a license I've gone over and over Hondas and Nissans, then once I started looking into trucks again I realized I knew more about them when I was 10 then I do know lol. And now I'm getting myself into the more hardcore RC thing now so it's a whole different ball game. What parts or systems would need to be replaced/upgraded?

One more question is can I get a body that would be big enough to make it look as close to a 1:1 scale truck or is that out of the question? I know almost anything is possible but a truck that big I would assume be pretty hard to do that with. What is the biggest body available. I'd love to have an old Toyota 4 runner body but I'd be just fine with any truck really ... I know I've seen a few WK's with some good size bodies on them but none ever specify what size they are ... any help on this one?

seems to me like the smaller the truck is in real life, the bigger the body is. check out prolineracing.com and hpiracing.com at their rubicon, bronco, defender, scout etc. bodies, they seem to have the biggest scale look, and you can fit them over bigger tires because the wheel wells are bigger to make the body proportionate. see what Im getting at?

Sorry I haven't been on here in a while. Yes I was talking about the RTR Hi lift ... those new Hilux's look pretty cool too. I'm most likely going to get the Wheely King because right now money is really tight.
