Default Best/tallest mud, dirt hill tire

I'm looking for everyone's opinion on tires for my 4x4 wk. I would like something close to the stock height, just softer and better bite in mud/dirt/mulch etc. I was looking into the IMEX puller and hawg stuff, but I haven't found a website yet, that lists the overall height. Thanks all,

Justin W

i personally would go with the team losi rock claws i don't know from experiance but i have heard that the imex tire is a little on the hard side eventhough the come in multiple grades of hardness if you i do know that the team losi is 5.5 inches tall and a little narrower that the stock wk tire hope that helps

They have real photos now of the Rock Stompers. I was looking at these earlier today. They look pretty good, but the side walls look a little to rigid. In the pics at rc4wd.com there is no bulge at all. Other than that, I may try them myself.

Imex tires will give you the height you want. But not the best performance. If your not crawling you should be fine with them though.

I've been testing some 40 series Slingers in a bit of dirt, mud and slick rock here lately. Good all around tire. They'll flat out move some real estate if you got the horsepower to spin them. I'd assume the 2.2 size would have similar results.

2.2 mudslingers hands down.

or maxx sized M2k (have deeper treadblocks than the 2.2 version, wider too)

I don't know why this got moved to WK since all 2.2 tire stuff applies, but whatever. So tonight I decided to get a little creative with the stock tires. I removed half the chevron's (every other) on all 4 tires. A few pulls up a 40ft wet mulch pile at my work proved that they bite a lot better. Can still dig in every once in a while, but it just keeps pulling up the hill if I keep turning the wheel. I'll post up a few pics once I figure out how to, lol. Thanks for all the info so far.

Edit-can I post pictures up from my computer? Or do I have to upload them to like photobucket first? I can't figure out how to post them up. Thanks.

Gotta agree with ya there! My yard is being re-landscaped by these!

i have a set of imex red rocks(5.5" tall by 3" wide) and they were ok at first but then i made some new foams for them and they work great
and they can move some earth

some people say that they suck cuz the lugs roll over and on mine they did with the stock foams but the new ones i made they dont!

the tread seems a little close together for mud tires. Wouldn't they just get all packed up with mud? I'm not crawling tire expert, but I know a lot about mountain bike and motorcycle tires, and for mud, you'd want narrow(er) tires with widely spaced tread so teh mud doesn't pack together...

my 2 cents...
