I use those in my 1/8 scale buggy. It slows down the diff action. it would not be a good solition in a TLT-1 because the diffs are not sealed.

well the problem with oil is that most of the diffs' you'll see on this site are'nt sealed, so it tends to leak out in a short amount of time and make a mess.

you can also use the pajero/touareg(sp?) g parts diff lockers. or you can move one of the spider gears to lock the diffs also. both of these methods do not require adhesives of any kind and are completely reversible.

It is not going to lock the diff totally. I would just fill the diffs up with JBW thats what I did and it worked great. I don't really know about the automotive gear oil, I can't even drive yet. 2 more years

Is the JB weld a good choice in these metal diffs? I've had very good results in a Clod. Or is something else preferred?

JB Weld seems to be the standard in locking Pede Trannies.

Using oil in these diffs really wouldnt acomplish anything. On a good crawler the diff doesnt spin fast enough to need oil. IF you sealed your axles you could use oil but not to any real benifit Last edited by xjman; 06-03-2006 at 02:18 AM.

I have had bad luck with the hot glue. I just moved one of the spider gears inbetween the other two. It locks the diff and is reversable if I ever want to sell it.
