Default Question about traveling with crawler

I was wondering if I needed to do anything special to fly with my AX10. Like do I need to drain the shocks because of the altitude or anything? I am going to Colorado for Christmas and would like to take it but don't want to mess anything up. Thanks guys.

Are you putting it in a carry-on or are you checking the bag it is in? You better check with the airline about that. They are really not letting a lot of stuff on the planes anymore.

Stay with me on this one. I've shipped my bike by air before and had wondered about the tires and whether or not I should deflate them slightly. I wasn't the only person with this question and I remember reading that the pressure difference was actually quite minimal.

So, after saying all that, no, you don't have to worry about the pressure effects, just the handling effects from the baggage handlers. I would, however, investigate into shipping of the batteries. Depending on the type of battery and airline used, they may or may not have some precautions/restrictions. Plus the fact that most rc batteries look a little suspect.

Thanks for your help. I was planning on slightly disassembling it so it packs a little better and checking it. I just didn't want the shocks to leak or anything else to get messed up in the process. I think I'll call the airline though.

I wouldn't worry too much about the shocks, but to keep oil out of your suitcase, I'd pull them and throw them in a ziplock bag just to be safe.
