| Looking for my first crawler....
Hey everyone I'm in the market for an R/C crawler. I'm not new to off-roading as I own a modified 88' wrangler. I also used to race electric cars.... HPI Pro2. I have been wanting to get back into this sport for many years. Trying to figure if i wanted a car so i can go fast, or a truck so i can run over stuff. Than I read up on all these different rock crawlers like the Axail Scorpion. So I guess what i'm trying to say is this, whats a good kit to purchase that will not kill my funding for my reall off-road toy? I'm looking to use it just to play around in/outside the house. thanks, Kirk |

Just buy the axial kit. cheap easy way to get started. .....Or you could build one, if you know how the 1:1 stuff works build away. Building is more than half the fun for me. Livonia? MI? Welcome to your new addiction.

I have asked myself this question more than once..." Do I really need $1000 in toy trucks?" Then I start building another one. Check out the get togethers section. Buy your kit, and come crawling |

Do you just want to bolt one together or do a bit of fabrication, scale rig or a comp style crawler? Done up with decent equipment mine all usually run in the $400 - $500 range starting with nothing. They're all gonna kill the finances but the Wheely King comes RTR and you can beat on it out of the box but you need to replace everything except the axles to make a competition worthy crawler (in my opinion). The Scorpion is a basic kit and still needs motor, battery and the rest of the electronics but with basic tuning it's comp worthy out of the box. Bolt together and go - Axial Scorpion Design and fabricate - Axial Scorpion, HPI Wheely King, Tamyia TLT-1, Tamyia F350/Hilux High Lift ect... If you can afford the initial fundage of cash, I'd say Scorpion. If not maybe do some more research on the Wheely King. Just my $.02 |

I don't have the time to design and fabricate my own rig. My real toy takes all that outta me ha. I'm looking for a bolt together and go. I found ebay sells the scorp. for about $230 shipped to my doorstep. Buy novak rooster crawl ESC with their electric motor for around $110 from towerhobbies. I have a Jr. 2 FM radio from my car I can take thats a 3 chan. so that will cut costs down. But I will need some batt. but i do have a nice millenium charger so i can charge the NiMh. I don't think i'll be doing any comp. If i do it will be noob class and nothing serious. |

haha you have noo idea on how many times I would come in from working on my jeep in the garage to look it up again. Than do some youtube video searches. Than go back to the garage, paint my winch plate, than come back in while it dried. haha. Now i'll have to purchase the jeep body for it |
