Default Anyone into Rc tanks?

I've always wanted one, but looking through E-bay I see so many. Some look mainly like toys, and others like Tamiya's are on the pricey side. Anyone have a preference as to a good one between the toy grade and the tamiyas? Any pro's/cons would help. Thanks!

Hi

I was into rc tanks until the rockcrawling thing hit me. I had a WSN Russian t34 and Hen Long tiger 1. The tiger was my favorite of the two. I did pick up a tamiya tiger but ended selling it for some crawling parts. My suggestion is skip ebay and go check out Matotoys.com. Everyone thats into toy grade tanks shop there. There are two variants of the HL tanks, the ideal choice will be the one with the smoke/sound with metal gears version. Pros with the toy grade( Hen Long )tanks is that the cost is inexpensive for RTR. Cons you get what you pay for, cheap plastic and some parts need to be beefed up. Its ok if you run on grass/ dirt but other than that you'll need to do some fabrication. And of, course the Tamiyas are at the top of the echelon. They have metal hulls, suspension is like the real deal etc etc... The only con is price. The hottest HL tanks too look into would be the Bulldog, pershiong and Panzer IV.

X2 That is the one I would get. Fully RTR for $200 shipped...not bad. I just hope it isn't too cheap in that it breaks easily.

The M26 and Bulldog from Hen long are probably the 2 most trouble free tanks when it comes to performance on the ground aswell as breakage. The biggest problem for these Hen Long tanks were that the tracks could easily come off track and the Tiger1 was notorious for that. The pershing and bull were not susceptible to this problem. if you are planning on putting a driver, you can pick up forces of valore figure from wally world. My cousin has the M26 and loves it. This is his tank and he used medical gauge and 3MM spray glue when applying the netting
