^Similar to what he said... 1/10 Castle Creation Sidewinder and 4600kv motor. You should be able to pick one up for under $150. I got mine for $130 from Stormer Hobbies.

Or you could go VXL. Off Ebay around $130-40.

VXL system or Mamba Sidewinder 4600 or 5700 system. I have the VXL and 4 5700 systems, the VXL runs alot cooler and can be just as fast as the 5700 if you gear it up and run it on 3s lipo. The 5700 or 4600 Mamba systems are awesome, I run mine on 2s lipo or 3s a123 (9.9v). The Mamba systems get hot faster, but geared down with the lower voltage they run great and are FAST!

Yup. Good, solid fast combo. Lipo would be faster, as well as a bit more run time, but if you are like me, you can't have it all.... you'll be happy with that setup.

I'd go with a 4600 personally. Then if you want stupid fast you could put a 3S lipo in there.

1/10 Castle Creations Sidewinder with a 4600 and a 2S LiPo. You can get the brushless set-up for around $130 and the lipo set-up charger and batt. for around $115 If you don't want to go lipo right now, go with a matched 6-cell pack, or a 7-cell. Cheap lipo. Charger, I have used this charger for a long time and it has worked great. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=5549 You would need this power supply. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6477 I also just bought this lipo for my slash, I don't think a pede will have the required batt. compartment space though. It looks to be back ordered right now though, they go fast every time they get them instock. Good batts at a cheap price. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=7653 Just something to think about if you plan to go lipo in the future. | |
