Default My new (useded) nitros.

Woke up this moreing to find a t-maxx and a rusty under the tree with a crap load of parts. Some bead lock rims(maximazers) and a few outher things. This is the first nitros I have owned. OMG! these are so much fun! I have ran all most a half a gallon thro them just to day. Im lookin at a better tire for my maxx to put on the beadlocks.. Mashers? or what should I get? Im also gettin new bodies. A HPI bronco for the maxx and some kind of bug body for my rusty.
Ok heres the qustions. On my maxx it seems the clutch is slippin. How do I tighting it up? I also have a new clutch for it. I will post some pics of my trucks up when my sis gets home with the camara.
Also what is some good mods for the trucks. I also want to add a set of spool locker for the maxx. I have one would it be allright to put it in the rear and the frount open? I dont wanna jb weld them in case I wanted to go back open diff.
Pics in a few

Cool gift! I loved my buggie that I had. Nieghbors didn't. For mods and such look up beat your truck.com. As for the diffs I would throw a spool in the mid and rear then use fluid in the front .As for tires what kind of surface you mainly running on?

Yea that sounds like its time for a new clutch. Look into some dirt hawg 2's.I run some on the slash, does super good on loose silty sand and on medium to hard pack that I run on.What size our our the mashers guessing for the max. Probally better to run a 1/10 rear tire or 2.2's.

For the Maxx...

Don't lock the rear diff in the Maxx. I did and I hated it. Put some ultra heavy wheel bearing grease in instead.

As far as upgrades go, pick up some bulkheads from Fast Lane Machine and some arms from RPM. Both companies warranty thier stuff for life. Some good aluminum chassis braces are good too. Stay away from aluminum/titanium skids. Use RPM there too.

I highly recommend the True Track suspension for the rear. Probably the best thing I ever did to my Maxx.

I ran some Zombie Max tires on mine, then transferred them over to my Revo, and now they are on my crawler. Tons of tread, lots of traction, and they last an amazingly long time.

If it has the newer style trans (Revo style with the little spur) get the double disk/vented brake disk. Made a ton of difference in mine. Also make sure you have a good strong brake servo too, nothing less than a Traxxas 2055.

Go with the Traxxas Resonator exhaust pipe. For the love of god don't ever do the rear dual setup. You're cruising for a blown engine if you do...

Sorry for takeing so long iv been out running my stampede (I dont know why I said rustler be for I must have been half a sleep LOL.) I have to get some bearing for the clutch bell I did't have one in my part boxs. The gear was completley brokein off the clutch bell. No wornder it would't go. lol
I also blew one of my engines up So now I have to get a new one or rebulid one. It is a os max engine Is this just a stock engien that comes ont the traxxas trucks? I took the engine off my maxx and put it on the rusty so I would have something to run. I also have a qustion I put a MIP stinger pipe on the pede and now it wont run right? It done real good with the outher pipe on it but now it just seems to bog down. How do I get the carb ajusted right?

os max engines are not the ones stock from traxxas, a pro .15, 2.5, 2.5r, or 3.3 are stock traxxas motors depending on when it was made.

the carb needs readjusted when ever you change pipes as you affect back pressure and power band, and air flow.

If you have the $$ I'd invest in the OS .18's they are great little motors and are much more reliable than any traxxas motor. but do you're research on motors cause little things make a huge difference. cv'r to TZ's are night and day, and the price reflects it.. I would be weary of buying any motor used cause who knows what kind of shape it is really in.

if you're comfortable with it you might look into rebuilding the motor if it isn't completely destroyed on the inside.

as for carb adjustments I would figure out exactly which motor you have, put it back to stock specs and tune from there.
