Default Stuffing 8 Cells in a Slash

I got a box from UPS yesterday that contained my aluminum shock caps and my new Integy 8 cell 9.6 volt 3600mah battery. I quickly realized that it wouldn't fit in a stock Slash's battery compartemnt so out came Mr. Dremel. I removed the cross bracing at the front of the battery compartment and shaved the thin piece of plastic at the back.

Now the 8 cell fits and the other 6 & 7 cell batteries that I have will fit with the stock foam padding installed.

Here is a short video of my Slash with the new battery. The motor and ESC are a Mamba Max 4600 Kv system.

nice that you made it fit, but I have to ask why you went with a 8 cell flat pack instead of doing a 8 cell hump so the extra 2 cells would stick up through the battery strap?

BTW my slash will be here friday and I'm swapping out my MM7700 and 8cell from my rustler into it

That is how I did it in mine, the 2 cells fit in the strap nicely.

I was ordering some parts from tower and added the battery on at the last minute. When I ordered I didn't see an 8 cell hump pack and I thought it would fit if I removed the foam. When I got it and it didn'f fit I just decided to make it work. Now, my 6 cell and 7 cell hump packs fit with the foam installed turned around running long ways with the chassis. I guess an added benefit that I just thought of with my set up is that it keeps the weight lower.

be carefull....

the slash is too big for the 7700 kv motor. watch the temp cause i thermaled my mamba max when i was running that motor and i had i geared as low as you can go. I recommend running a different motor in the slash. the 7700 is fun in a drifer though....

good mod. now if your esc can handle it, you can custom build a 10 cell pack for it.

not too worry, slobin and I have the same rig, they only run for 2-3 mins and then we blow something up anyway. Something about 70 mph and plastic parts, just don't work too well.
