Default Nitro Cen Matrix ---> Brushless "CORR"

Well, this project took some twists and turns. The BL conversion was motivated by my frustration with Nitro. The "CORR" look was motivated by some posts here on RCC. (Bumpers are on order)

Here is what the end result looks like so far:

Rite on man. Looks like you put a lot of time into that pig. Beautiful! I love that paint as well. How she handle?

Actually she handles quite well. When I built her, I tried to keep everything balanced f/r and l/r. The only trick is getting traction. I only run it on a 3 cell lipo (4800mah 25C cont), and it has a hell of a time getting traction. She is a fun basher, and I look forward to some open time at a track. Snow/Cold here in Chicago keeps options limited.

looking good
Are you going to use slash bumpers?
On my caster I mounted one with a simple aluminum bracket off the 4 front diff to chassis screws

oh yeah, those tires ROCK for awesome traction

Yes. I have a set of f/r Slash bumpers coming. Included in the purchase were also the side nerf bars....so if it can be done right, those will make it on as well. I was looking at using the 4 diff/chassis screws as well. I am sitting on a good amount of high strength aluminum plate (left over from my current Duratrax Warhead Brushless Conversion). That plate will probably find it's way into the front end.

It is actually Pactra Candy Purple (3 coats) then backed with Pactra Indy Silver. BOTH are rattle cans. I use this combo on all of my bodies. It is like my "signature" color for my rides. The crawler in my avatar is also this color.

I have the itch to build a brushless buggy. What kind of speed and run time do you get with the 3 cell? I see alot of conversions with 4 cell but that seems to be big time parts breaking power.

I have not been able to clock the top speed as of yet, but the run-time bashing is about 20-25 minutes on a 4800mah 3cell 25C-35C discharge with a Feigao 540 8L motor and a Monster Max ESC with a 13T pinion. It definitely is faster and quicker than the Axial .28 Nitro motor that I pulled out. The buggy is not heavy, so it is a lot of fun with this setup. I will have to wait until spring to get some concrete speed numbers as ice/snow/very cold is an issue here.

Bashing is what I do and it sounds like a good setup. Thanks for the info it gives me a baseline to work from.

It is a fun color, and that silver backing really is what makes it look great. Without the silver it looks not so good.

Thanks....I am glad that I am not getting flamed for this look.

On this model of buggy, it was quite easy thanks to a motor plate/mount from RCMonster. That site has quite a few plate conversions for buggys and truggys out there. Aside from the motor mount, the ESC and Radio tray was easy to fab out of lexan. This was my first Nitro --> Brushless conversion.

I am currently working on my 2nd conversion that is a Nitro Duratrax Warhead conversion to brushless. I have this build 99% done. I am just waiting on Castle to send me the working Monster Max ESC to replace the DOA unit that I have here. This build was more difficult as I had to retain the mechanical brakes, and fabricate my own adjustable motor mount.

The SLASH bumpers arrived today. Here are the shots of them mounted on the Matrix/Corr project:

That will have to wait until I make it to a local indoor track as outside on the ice it just goes noplace. Even on frozen asphalt the tires get hard, and no traction. Hopefully at an event at the end of January there will be a chance to get video.
