Just started resurecting the Traxxas Bandit I bought back in November 1997 yesterday, repowering it with the Velineon motor/ESC combo out of my Stampede have decided to call it the Redline Bandit. It's getting built with just straight line speed in mind. I'm going to swap in a mixture of Boca and Traxxas sealed bearings and would like to eventually install the aluminum steering bellcranks and New Era front bulkhead. Here's an older picture taken a few years back with my Mini-T ![]() Here's a sneak peek of how it looks as of this morning ![]() I still need to put downtravel limiters in the shocks to lower the buggy a little more and I'm in the process of pulling the stainless button head screws with black oxide cap head ones.

Thanks, I'm not sure what to do for paint, but I'm waiting until it warms up to shoot the body.

Here's the pics I thought this looked cool, but kinda impractical ![]() But, his turned out a bit more appropriate ![]() It looks like the "Chin Spoiler" will sit about 10mm off the ground ![]() To me it has that hot rod-y, nose down, ready for a street fight stance on from these angles ![]() ![]() I'm not too sure what to use for shock oil so they're empty right now and I plan on getting rid of the camber that has been adjusted into the rear suspension by using the factory VXL Camber links. One of the things I did was set the arms above level with the drive shafts set level, and yes, those are shortened Jato shafts and modded Jato outdrives;) ![]() I'm usung Trinity Low Rider springs for the Maxx trucks on all corners, the front are the light blue heavy ones while the rears are the X-Heavy with a spacer to puxh the spring low enough to keep the right stance.

Looks great man. I think its too bad the Bandit never got better recognition. The newer vxl Bandits are badass and soar with ease and tough as nails. The biggest downfall of them has been the lack of hop ups and the lame wheel hub/pin setup. Brushless power just rips them to shreds. Looks great man.

I think it looks pretty mean. Put a sinister looking black with gray ghost flame job on the body and it will look killer.

Thanks guys, these wheels use hexes so I don't have to worry about the pins giving me problems, fortunalty there's enough stuff for the Electric Rusty and Pede, as well as the Nitro Rusty/Pede/Sport I can Frankenstein stuff. I've even used Maxx parts on it like the springs you see in the pics! I'm not too sure what to do for paint, the main color will definatly be black, and I've thought about masking off flames and shooting some Pactra Candy Red with either red or gold glitter sprinkled into while wet, then backed with more black. I'm debating about shooting Pactra Window Tint or Candy Red onto the rims so I can give them some color too. If I could get away with the belly scrapper stance (tried it 8 or 9 years ago, didn't work well), I'd just shoot it flat black on the outside with plain black versions of the same rims
