Default My 4S Powered Slash

I got the chance on Friday to throw together my 4S powered Slash. It has the following gear installed:

ESC: MMM
Motor: Medusa 36-60-2000
Lipo: PolyRC 4S 25C 3700mAh
Rx: Spektrum SR3500
Tires: Pro-Line Switch
Wheels: Pro-Line Epic
Gearing: 18:54 32P

I also have a new Pro-Line Hardcore body that has yet to be painted that will go on it in the future.

After actually sitting down to do some math on what a mild setup would cost, this setup wasn't much more money. I spent about $385 on the Lipo, MMM and Motor...all new.

Is it a 2000 kv motor?

4S @ 2000 kv is 29,600 RPM.

VXL is 3500 kv.

3S @ 3500 is 38,850 RPM.

I'll race ya.

There isn't a VXL that'll touch this setup in terms of power capability. The Medusa is a 4 pole motor and has a rotor at least 10mm longer than the VXL. There are many folks using this same motor in E-Revos and 1/8th scale buggy and truggy conversions. The bottom line is it's quite simple for me to gear up to overcome the lower motor RPM's...the Medusa has more than enough torque to make up for it.

So you'll do the parachute blow over sooner than I will?

It flies like a friggin broken kite. I jumped it once on Sunday when I had it out doing some speed runs. Once it's in the air, the body just catches air and kind of sails. I'll have to try and get some video of that this weekend when I take it out again for the mandatory video shoot.

I've seen a brushless slash on 3s, and I thought that was insane! 4s ranks close to retarded, but not quite. So I must be on the verge of brainless to ask if you can get a 6s pack crammed in one of these things.

I'd need a whellie bar for my whellie bar!
