Tamiya is the one i like most for bashing, although it can be built up to more comp worthy.

There are a couple of them floating around. These should help with your googling:

My pick: Losi XXX-4 [pick up a used one for a few bucks...it will bash forever]
Associated B44
Kyosho Lazer ZX-5
Tamiya Dark Impact
Hot Bodies Cyclone D4
Thunder Tiger Sparrowhawk
Academy SV2

Tower has the 10B for $169 RTR along with their offer of $20 off any order of $149 or more. Its based off the same platform as the 10E onroad/drift car only set up for offroad with longer shocks and such. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXVZB2&P=SM

The Brama 10B is hardly an upgrade from toys r us quality. Way too much plastic.

Id say the same thing about most of the cheaper Tamiya kits as well.

I just picked up a Kyosho Lazer ZX-5 readyset for $205 and so far I am very impressed with its set up. Good speed for stock and no breakage to report!

I've had 3 Dark Impacts (DF03) since they came out and love them. They're pretty strong little buggies and handle really well if you build them right. I would recommend fitting a slipper clutch though. I nuked a couple spurs before I fitted one to mine.

Having said that I was jumping it on tarmac with a 10T motor fitted.

go with shaft drive in any case.... much more reliable. And it sucks changing belts.

I've got one left in bits but I don't think it's complete. Unfortunately I sold my other two so I could buy a Slash :-(.

Still I'm sure there'll be at least one on e-bay.

This thread is the shizzle StangIve been wanting a 1:10 4WD buggy for years, but I usually always bought traxxas for bashers because I could rebuild one in 10 minutes blindfolded and drunk. Now I have an E-revo but I like it waterproof and I don't want to spend the cash on a 1:8 brushless/lipo setup.

I am about to order either a Dark Impact or a DB01 Durga, I cant decide. Anyone out there have experience with a DB01?

I built a DB01 for a customer of the model shop i used to work for. If you want to race/bash go for the DB01 but if you just want to bash get the DF03. The belt system on the DB01 is great for racing but I've never been a fan of belts on bashers. The DF03 is a far more bashable buggy.
