Over 70MPH Touring Car /Need Gyro Knowledge Some guys recommended to use one at these speeds ... I've never used one before so all ideas are appreciated "thumbsup" Its a TA05 with full upgrades carbon fiber chassis all aluminum parts ,3s LIPO (will go 4s to 6s) brushless and so on ... For now my questions are: 1.Will any gyro work or is there a particular type that you would use in a 1/10 Turing car... 2.What all will I need to buy to run this setup (for ex harnesses BECs)? Thanks !!! |
I used to race Touring, what are you attempting to do, You have pics of the chassis? |

I wont be racing but will be attempting a high speed setup out door ... thanks team3six |
Ask JIA about gyro's and on road stuff. I know the 1/8 buggy guys used them in their set ups..... |
hpi makes a car specific one called a dbox or drift box..i believe your steering servo plugs into the box and the box into steering port on rx..just look at hpi,s website might be under drift car options"thumbsup" http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/80588/ this is what you want, it aids in keeping your car under control by subtle steering corrections..not just for drifting |

no need for a dang gyro at 70, just learn how to drive lol. dial in a bunch of expo and youll be suprised at how well you can control it just fine. what will you be doing? straight line? oval? road course? |

yeah youd just be wasting money and adding weight with a gyro. just throw in a bunch of expo. |

Was going to say the same thing. Work on aero's and try to add a bunch of downforce!!! When you go fast enough they like to take off. GL mike |

it makes the input(steering)less sensitive near the center (nuetral) but still leaves full steering throws, when full input is given. the full name is exponetial. its a VERY helpful tool. we use it in all our airplanes and jets. you will need a computer radio to do this. |
there is a thread on ultimate rc forums about them, in a drift setup, they say the cheap ebay $15 gyro is just as effective as the d-box;-) found the thread http://www.ultimaterc.com/forums/sho...highlight=gyro |
Yep, simpe GWS rate gyro will do just fine. Ran one in my BL MicroRS4...it would do over 70, and even with full expo, was still a handful. Put on the gyro and as long as you don't try to over control the car, the gyro will do its job. Took me many outings to dial in the gyro though, keep that in mind. |
i,m going to try a gws on my cup racer as it tends to pull left under hard accelleration, this is because its a shaft drive car ,belt drives dont have the same issue and that why i love my xray for driving..cup racer is very cool though as well, gonna try this w/e will post results |
