Big Red Camaro tribute I always loved the Big Red Camaro. A 200mph street legal steel bodied camaro built by Dan and R.J. Gottlieb. http://www.bigredcamaro.com/newsite/ http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicl...aro/index.html http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...t_camaro_z.jpg Thanks to Vonclod for the help with the rims and the idea, after seeing his Cudafish. So I turned my HPI RS4 Pro 2 into a tribute to Big Red. Only problem is that Big Red is a 1969 and mine is a 1968. But close enough for my little amount of skills. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...dcamaro026.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...dcamaro002.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...dcamaro003.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...dcamaro004.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...dcamaro014.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...dcamaro024.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...dcamaro028.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...dcamaro030.jpg |
cool Well thats funny since I'm about to finish one aswell but I'm just waiting for my 31mm vitage wheels for it. I used the parma body which I actually like your better for the body lines and the frontend doesn't have a big airdam like mine. I went with the thrust d type wheels in the 31mm by 6mm offset but I really like yours aswell since it's pretty close it the bbs ones on the car. I will post picks of mine soon once the wheels get here and hope you like it . Yours is great I love it. For a side note I have followed the big red one for many years and for a 69 camaro body car to do the silver state classic 91 mile road race in 27 min at 197 mph average speed and topping out at 232 mph is unreal. I've met rj gotlieb a few times and a friend of mine picked up a midengine chassis from the big red chassis builder today and the real car was there in his shop. I also have some personal in car camera footage of one of his races that shows the gps speedo on the dash over 200 alot.(unreal car) For sure my ultimate dream car and it's only getting better with age and now has 1000hp. Well enough rambling and nice project. |
Bad ass! |
My brother met rj gotlieb when working on the new Fast and Furious. Big Red a has a small part in it. My brother was really the only one that new anything about it, the rest of the camera crew hadn't heard of it. R.J. was great, he kicked my brother down posters, shirts, and a dvd. I wish there was more footage of it on Youtube or somewhere else. Not many clips of it out there. |
Shouldn't yours be numbered .1 instead of 1? LOL! I crack myself up. |
dvd I'll see if I can get a copy of the in car for you and by the way big red lives in a shop real close to your house. |
Looks great man. "thumbsup" 68's are better anyways. :ror: |
69 The one thing I like about the parma 69 :ror: is the cowl induction hood. |

that looks killer, great job getting the offsets on the wheels right! they flush with the body quite well. |
Awesome Tribute. That car is just sick. I went to the Silver State Classic when I lived in vegas and got to see Big Red actually run out there. |
