Default Problem with my traxxas velineon

It's been doing it for quite awhile but seems to be getting worse- if I give it full throttle for more than a couple seconds it causes the esc to start blinking red and only run on half power. I stop & reset the esc & try to be more careful with the throttle so it won't do it again. but then it does it again. Is the motor drawing too many amps for some reason or is the battery getting old/bad? If so how can I tell? It's a maxamps 3 cell 5000 hv, about 3 years old btw.

try a diffrent battery, sounds like it is amp cutting because it cant draw what it needs (thats how you kill esc's)

what type of batter are you useing

what mah, discharge, and how many cycles do you have on it?

Yea, it sounds like the battery is activating the LiPo cut off too soon.

That's what I was thinking is it's the battery. It's a maxamps battery but it might be 3 years old now that I think about it. I wish I could just try another battery but I don't have another big one just my little 1100 crawler batteries. I really like the little hyperion 35c lipos I've been using on the crawler. I'll look & see how much a 4 or 5000 one of those would cost. A 3000 35c would flow as much juice as my old 5000 20c maxamps wouldn't it?

esc light is solid green when first turned on. Battery is a 5000 mah 3s maxamp lipo 20c I believe. It's almost 3 years old now I think...
