Default cheap semi homebrew short course truck

i really badly wanted a short course truck, and dont
really have the cash for it.but i have a box of duratrax
evader parts.most/all kits are from USA so shipping is nearly
80 bucks on its own.

i used a nitro evader chassis, electric evader shock tower and
rear chassis plate. the body is a proline carnage with panels that
come off (which i can eventually see me gluing on and puttying up)
i got some sc10 wheels and need to get bumpers yet.

it has cost me about $100 all up so far. the kits start at 150 plus
shipping so im doing alright. need to give it a lick of paint and get
the running gear in there and electrics. i have only spent a couple
of hours on it. most of the time was cutting out the stupid carnage
body and wondering wtf was going on. why im cutting the panels
off a perfectly good brand new $50 shell

heres some pics of it.

cheers.

You do realize you posted a short course build in the "Non Crawler R/C" Section of a Forum based on Rock Crawling.

You also realize there is a website, called RCSHORTCOURSE.COM

I would say this area isnt highly trafficed, and it hasnt even been 24 hrs!

sorry, the arms are the nitro. i tried inverting them but
i had rubbing issues. i put them back and now i can
drive around with all the guards on

the front end and chassis are from the nitro the back end
is from the electric, with a ball diff, and alum idler.

just got the gearing right too. this thing needs to be geared way low
jst from the weight of the shell

Very nice. I've got a couple of Evader's in a box that I think I'll pull out of the closet and make this conversion.

indeed.
the body should have been 20 bucks and the
wheels 50 tops with tires. doesnt matter everything
else i had.

i try to keep trips to the lhs to a minimum now and make
modify stuff as i need. couple of paint cans, diff oil, bits and peices
100 dollars goes fast and your left with a tiny bag

i COULD NOT get a sc from anywere other than the u.s
they must all be made there, finding someone thats ships here
is a bit of a pain alone and a small fortune. thats why i made it.

this hobby is expensive and i dont have money lol.

i have put some of the decals on that came with the body
and put some rear shocks on the front for more down travel.
hopefully tomorrow i will hit the gravel with her.

i took it out in the street yesterday, was good fun but
the front shocks were bottoming out too easily.
i just love the shear size of this beast.

some more pics

i really need some bumpers and mudflaps.
