Default one more rc Dirt bike announcment today. 1/4 scale BL dirt bike from Venom.

i ve never been a big venom fan. some of their stuff was ok, some was kinda shitty.

last year they introduced a GPV1 1/8th scale street bike. seems they have done a very good job with it, and the 1/8th scale bike scene is getting pretty thick now world wide.

we here stateside have seen this side of the hobby takeing hold. but we lacked behind the euros with the dirt bikes. well other than the King of the Court, the Ricky bike introduced by Radio Shack no less. lol

But. Dirt bikes and supermotards are gaing big momentum.

first was the ARx 1/4 scales, and then the Anderson M5s available mostly in europe. a few months back, Duratrax announced their DX450, which is a relabled Anderson. its made for Duratrax by anderson.

and today, per the thread title, Venom Group just announced their 1/4 scale Dirt bike. and i have to say its a very good looking unit.
looks like they started with the ARx 1/4 scale model, made some changes, and redesigned afew things to get the price down. plus a stuffed scale appearance rider. come Brushless with 2.4 also.

here is the link to the announcment.
http://www.venom-group.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=VEN-0400

it has some very nice features as well, and though its probably very similar to the ARx it appears to be quite a bit different in the end.
may have to get one of these for the garage too. lol i havent yet ran the DX450 even. lmao

Man i can see the us market heating UP in the large scale offroad side of things!!

Looks alot like the duratrax one, I ran a duratrax yesterday and they are a blast to rail around. Did not do any jumps, but I plan on hitting some tracks with one to see what it can do

HA HA, sand tires!!! Is that really going to work? I would like to see that in action at the dunes if it does.

oh you can bet it works. lol
one of the guys from HBF/RCG converted his Ricky bike into a Nitro with a OS 18TMZ motor, then took it out to silver lake and ran it in the dunes. i have some pics and vids i ll dig up and post. made a paddle out of a 1/8th scale proline buggy paddle. went like a bat out of hell. he highly modified it.

these should do very good in the dunes/sand. see bikes like this every day in the dune around here.

Corey, they are actually pretty different from the DX450, which is actaully an Anderson M5 (euro) licened by Duratrax.

the Venom bike looks more like the ARx 1/4 scale bike. but that one is 400.00 just for the roller.

the VX is looking pretty damn good really.

traction control system (ok TC may be strething the actualality of it but....)
electric gyro
neoprene rider in VERY Scale details
motard and paddles.
aluminum hydro front shocks as stock.
more clearance, and what appears to be a fully confined batter location that isnt hanging right off the bottom!

i can see Both bike having alot to offer.

would be like the old glory days, and the bike you rode was decided by whether you wanted a 125 (DX450) or a 250 (VX). lol

anyone want to buy a GP EP Reactor bipe NIB? ive decided to ground myself and buy the Venom bike too i think. lol

i grew up on bikes. got my first one at 5. rode like a madman until i discovered playing guitar got women faster than riding dirt bikes did. hahaha. this is great for me, cuz i LOVE to ride, but my Body says NO FN WAY. heh.

14.5" wheelbase? Sounds huge. I have wanted a gpv-1 since they were announced but now I think I may go this route. The option tires look sweet. Can't wait to see a video

Holy crap that is sweet, hopefully the front forks are fluid filled and not just sprung like Duratrax's.

yes hydrolic front aluminum forks come as standard equip. the DX/M5 forks should be out very soon.

but when you nutz and bolt comparrison, the venom has alot more features as standard

optional tires right off the batt
beadlock style rims
traction control system (auto chain tensioner)
electric gyro (this is the one big concern i have, i think for MX a mechanical gyro is going to turn out to be a key feature needed. i think the electric gyro will fail more often then not for offroad use, but shoud be fine for motard).
front brake options right away no modding needed
neoprene rider
Scale body with motor and pipe,
better battery placement
better ground clearance due to battery placement (ya its 1/4 scale also, but your talking very minor size differances really. much like an old school YZ125 and YZ250)
direct steering with aluminum body steering dampener as stock equipment
larger motor, and esc.
3 chnl 2.4 with Mix on chnl 3 for brakes

and a few others. Duratrax has a better warrenty at one year replacement on no wear items where Venom is only 90 days.

Venom battery box also will fit a 3s with some breathing room.

the last BIG concern for me is i have also felt Venom was on the lower end of the quality rung and some time could be sneaky in parts release/price points.

but with an actual MX rider helping in its design as i understand it, hopefully some quality and good materials can be used
