Default 1:6 Mustang Drifter

Did not plan on building this anytime soon, but a buildoff on Scale4x4 lit a fire, been staring at it for the last 3 days eagerly awaiting to start some mods.

All i have to start is the body, i will acquire parts as money allows.

Parts list:
Axial Rear Axle
Emaxx trans
Maxx Front Suspension
2.8 wheels and street tires
3/4" square tubing to make c-channel frame

Electronics:
Spektrum Rx
Hitec 5645 for Steering
Mamba Monster Max

Starting pics, got excited and started tearing it down before i wrote up the paper haha.

With everything installed.

Paint ideas, first pic is tiny, sorry.

Dug out some old t-maxx parts.

Pulled the whole front bulk assembly.

Chopped the shock tower, wanted to leave the bottom part as a brace.

Lower Arm, New hinge pin holes, 30mm narrower then stock.

Choppy chop

Top arm, same as bottom, 30mm off both ends.

Stock on the left, Holy Camber on the right.

Finished hack job front end, slapped on some 2.8 wheels i had layin around.
As long as i get a set with the same offset as these ill be golden !!

Perfect !!

Hood teaser, more on this later

First of several layers and sanding to make my Cowl.

As of today
Bout half way done with my COWL hood
On layer #4 of .060 styrene, probably 4 more to go.

Other than the mustang body it's gonna be sweet. I can't wait to see this thing drive.

Looks awesome, I'll be watchin this for sure

I would vote for the first paint idea, but really, you'd have to resonably match those wheels for it to be perfect...

mcd (a company that makes large scales) has some firmer tires that can be good for drifting.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Ill probably just mod up some PVC tires for the rear to drift, most of the time it will sport some IMEX soft road tires to race with.

As for the rims, theres not a HUGE selection in 2.8, with Jato offset, but i did find some that look similar to BULLIT style wheels, so ill probably get those in chrome and black out the centers.

I say the third paint scheme. Good color combo there.

I have that same body sitting in my garage. I'll finish mine in about 2 years at the rate I'm going.

I love a good stang, always have. I think you should go with the black and silver two tone design

Stuck on the hood, thought about smoothing everything out and leaving it, or... add some more layers to bring the trailing end up a little more.
Whatcha guys think ?

Seems i ran out of ABS cement

Also whipped up a nice low profile drift wing.

Wing is still very rough, edges need rounded and whatnot.
